Maintaining an independent lifestyle or providing care for relatives and friends with disabilities can be a challenge. How can we help you remain safely in your home following and illness, hospitalization or short-term rehabilitation stay? Bethany currently runs the following programs and is willing to add on services as the needs of our community increase.
- Bathing: enjoy a whirlpool bath with the assistance of a professional caregiver. Our private spa is located at Bethany Pines and is entirely wheelchair accessible. Services can be extended to include manicure and hair care.
- Shopping and Errands: Volunteer driven, this program assists individuals in the Waupaca area. Services include grocery shopping, prescription pick-up and general errands.
- Prevention & Education: A variety of classes are held throughout the month led by trained professionals whose goals are to provide individuals the tools they need to maintain their health and independence. There are programs specifically designed for the caregiver that teach creative problem solving techniques and remind the caregiver of the importance of taking care of themselves, enabling them to continue the care of their loved ones. Memory enhancement programs focus on the idea of a healthy body and healthy brain. People living with chronic conditions will benefit from the six week workshop as they learn to maintain a positive outlook on life and develop strategies for coping with their specific disease. A fall prevention program, Stepping On, is a seven week class that will teach individuals strength exercises and balance. The goal is to prevent falls, thus maintaining an independent lifestyle.
- Transportation: Our wheelchair accessible van may be available to transport you within the Waupaca area. This service requires a volunteer driver.
